July - almost over

Wow, how fast this month has gone!
I really enjoyed my trip to California! It was so good to see and spend time with family. I do miss them and wish I could have stayed longer.
It is good to be home though too. I can't believe how fast this year is going.
Stephanie is living with her dad now. I'm sad about that and miss her, but she didn't like my rules. I pray for her daily. (anyone reading this - please add her to your prayers)
My daddy had a heart attack last week! It was a mild one and he was very lucky. He was in the hospital for a couple of nights. They would have placed stents (or stints) in his heart, but he has a couple of "spots" on his lungs that the cardiologist wanted a lung doctor to look at first. Turns out my dad has had these spots for like 20 years (thanks for that info Dad!) So, the lung doc is working on getting his old chest x-rays so he can try to determine if there has been any change in those spots. He goes back to see him next week. I think all the medication my dad is on has got him feeling really bad (weak and tired). Keep him in your prayers too, please.
So, I guess that's about all that's going on in my life right now, oh other than the big Wachovia announcement of thousands of job cuts. Nice. So far, no jobs lost in my area and I'm sure thankful to have a job. I guess we'll just see what happens. I really need to find a part time job to supplement the income. Wish I could find something fun. Hmmm....

Home

It's good to be home, but I wish I was still in CA too!
I had a great time and it was really good to see family.

I have a MySpace now! Check it out. Just do a search under my name - Cindy Hargett.

Here are some more pics.

This is pic of Lola.... isn't she cute?!! Yes, she stepped in her food and spilled it all over the floor.

And this is Scarlet... she is so adorable! She slept on my lap all the way back from my cousins'! I loved it!

And this is Boo-boo! She is a sweetheart too!

Tuesday, July 1st

Tonight, Barb and I went down to Angel's. She is my aunt Kay's oldest daughter. I haven't seen her since, well I really can't remember. She is beautiful. Kay passed away about 7 months after my mom. Sad.

We went out to eat Italian. I don't remember the name, but it was SO good! Then we went to the Pala Casino. I was the BIGGEST loser in our threesome. We didn't stay too long. Just played the penny slots for a little bit. It blows my mind to think how much money those places bring in! Crazy!

Anyway, here's the pics...

Monday, June 30th

Here are some more beach pictures. We went to Dana Point to the Delheney State Park and chilled on the beach for a couple of hours. I would have loved to stay longer, but I was burning to a crisp! Ugh. I forgot to put lotion on my back. DUH!

I also lost my bathing suit and never got around to buying another one. So I just layed out in a halter type top and shorts. I didn't get in the water b/c it was cold! So that worked out just fine!

I've never seen so many surfers! It was fun watching them. They make it look so easy.

Sunday, June 29th

Today we went over to see my Grandpa. I haven't seen him since 1985.

I'm still praying for him - for his salvation! I've been praying for him since I was a kid! Please keep him in your prayers too!

Here are some pics from Sunday. He has 2 little dogs... Girlfriend and Mommers. They are really cute!

This is Girlfriend.

And this is Mommers...

They are the fattest little dogs, but so cute!

Santa Monica Beach

Here are some pics from Santa Monica. Barb took me to the beach after we left Universal and we sat out on the beach for a bit. When the wind was blowing, it was actually quite chilly!

Nice hair! It was really windy. haha! I'm such a dweeb!

My pics of the mountains didn't turn out b/c it was smoggy and you couldn't tell what was ocean, sky or mountains. So, I deleted those.

It really is beautiful out here!

Lovin' it here in California!

So, I arrived in Burbank (Bob Hope Airport) on Saturday. Talk about a small airport! The plane landed, hit the breaks and turned right in to the concourse! haha! And then, only one - yes ONE place where all the luggage rolls around. Took forever to get my luggage!

After my Aunt Barb picked me up we went to Universal City Walk and ate lunch at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. YUM! It was delicious! Here are some pics!

Life is like a box of chocolates.........

Here is a view of Warner Bros from Universal City...

California, here I come

Well, it's almost here! I leave Saturday for California! I can't wait!
I just dread packing. Ugh. I don't know why, but I hate to pack. I never know what I might need!

I'm definitely looking foward to getting away though! I'll upload pictures when I can!

Woo-hoo!

Goodnight Stormy...

Well, almost 15 years ago, I chose you out of a litter of pups (I don't remember how many exactly), but I chose you. I brought you home for Steph for Christmas 1993. You were so cute and tiny. You have brought much joy these last 15 years along with some stress and headaches. (puppy training, etc.) You chewed up one of my good shirts (to shreads) among other things. But I loved you still. You were always good at barking when anybody came near the house. I will miss that security you gave. You were a feisty little thing - I have a scar on my hand to prove it. haha! I love you and will miss you!

I've noticed over the last few weeks that Stormy has seemed to be really showing her age. This past week got worse and I knew it was getting close to the time I was going to have to make a decision I didn't want to have to make. Well, that came sooner than I thought. I was hoping to at least have the weekend with her. I took her to the groomer this morning to have her shaved down. I wasn't expecting what I saw when I picked her up. I started crying the minute I saw her. She had lost so much weight and you could really tell it with all her hair gone.

She was really disoriented and that seemed to have gotten worse. I had gone and gotten her some doggy diapers so I could keep her in the house with me this weekend and keep an eye on her. I have to say she was really cute with that diaper on. Bless her. I got her some special food and she ate some, though I know she was struggling trying to eat and then I couldn't get her to drink anything. Then I couldn't get her to lay down - all she would do was stumble around and run into things. She was deaf and she didn't appear to be able to see anything either. So, I would just sit in the floor and hold her close.

I called my vet and they suggested it really wouldn't be good to wait until Monday (they were closed for the weekend) and gave me the number for the Emergency Vet Clinic. I gave them a call and filled them in on what was going on and of course they said to bring her whenever I was ready.

My friend Pam came and she spent some time loving on Stormy as well and she drove so I could hold Stormy. What a hard, hard thing to do, but I know she's not suffering now. I will miss her deeply. I held her close throughout, wrapped in a towel from home. She went peacefully.

Goodbye, goodnight, my sweet little dog.
